Oregon State STX Championships Race Report

OR State STX Champs

Last Saturday, I drove alone in the rain, over the mountains clear to the coastal hills of western Oregon in the hopes of scoring some points for the overall in the Oregon Short Track State Champs.

Without my trusty teammate, Ben, along to tag-team our biggest threat, I was a bit nervous about my chances, particularly when the main competition showed up with three teammates on the line.
Luckily, it was slick out-thanks to the never-ending OR rain and I was feeling spy. So spry I took a paved corner a bit fast in the early laps, went down, tore some lycra but mostly just slid along the wet pavement.

I rebounded got to the front and led the race for the remaining 35min (43min race-longish, but made the drive more worthwhile) grabbed a win, some points and some gas money. hooray.
Thanks to some first-place points, I now lead the OR series overall by 10 points heading into Sunday's Test of Endurance 50...
